Matthew Hill is an independent filmmaker based in Cambridge, United Kingdom.

 

Matthew began making films at a young age, starting with animation. Matthew went on to attended the BFI National Academy at NFTS, where young filmmakers are mentored by industry professionals, working as a sound recordist.

After graduating from Bournemouth University with a Media degree, he continued to write and direct shorts which have been accepted into various festivals. In 2019, his short film FAITH, was selected for screening at the Olympus Film Festival in Los Angeles, where it picked up a one week theatrical distribution at Laemmle Theatres.

In 2022, Matthew's fourth short BLUNT INSTRUMENT won Best Thriller Short at the London Independent Film Festival and was selected at Lift-Off Film Festivals in London and Berlin.

Matthew is currently developing a feature film titled 'Feral'.
